HOW TO HAVE PERFECT NIGHTS SLEEP
Many people cannot understand that even though they have seven to eight hours sleep a night, they still wake up tired and unrested.
The first factor that could affect your sleep pattern is looking at your environment. In the ideal situation your bedroom should be absolutely dark. Our eyes are sensitive to even the smallest amount of light therefore it is important to try and exclude any light source while you are sleeping. This can include the smallest night light or a street light outside your window. When the sun rises in the morning and it becomes light at an early time, this can cause you to have a disturbed sleep as your eyes pick up the light.
The second factor that can disturb your sleep pattern is noise. In the ideal situation you bedroom should be absolutely quiet, your ears are very receptive to noises especially at night when most back ground noises are at a minimum. It is important to turn off any products that may generate noise at night such as computers etc. The main noise that can disturb you could be outside , the road noise. If you have double glazing, this will overcome this but during the summer months when windows are kept open, this can be a problem. During the summer months the morning birds chorus can also be heard which is usually very early.
The third factor is ensuring your body is as natural possible. By having too much to drink can make you sleepy but does not make for a relaxing nights sleep. Smoking or taking drugs can also upset your sleep pattern. Taking a mug of coffee late in the evening or having a late meal can also inhibit your sleep pattern.
Fourthly it is imperative that you are comfortable in your bed. This includes the room temperature and most importantly the bed and mattress you sleep on.
When choosing a bed and mattress it is important to ensure that it is not only perfect for the décor of your bedroom but also that it gives you the right support and comfort that your particular body requires.
Finally your body needs to keep to a schedule including when to go to sleep and when to wake up, a sort of internal rhythm. If this rhythm is changed, by working late for instance, this upsets the rhythm and causes a disturbed sleep pattern.
